Beitel Hockey 4v4 Summer League is a competitive, high-level Thursday night league built for players who want the fun and creativity of 4v4 hockey while still developing their game in a competitive environment. The league is designed to give players the chance to compete with their friends, improve over the summer, and enjoy fast-paced hockey every week.
The season includes 10 skates over the summer and costs $450 per player and $400 per goalie. Included with registration is a custom league jersey, socks, and access to the league website where standings, scores, schedules, and team information will be posted throughout the season to help build competition and excitement.
The league format consists of an 8-game regular season followed by playoffs. After the regular season, the bottom two teams will be eliminated while the top four teams compete in single-elimination playoff games to determine the league champion. Every game will be fully reffed to maintain a competitive and organized environment.
At the end of the season, along with championship prizes for the winning team, the league will present three individual awards to recognize players who contributed to making the league competitive, fun, and hardworking throughout the summer. These awards are:
Hardest Worker Award
Most Improved Award
League MVP Award
These awards are meant to reward effort, development, and competition while giving players extra motivation throughout the season.
The league is working towards selling Beitel Hockey merchandise throughout the summer. Registered players will receive discounted pricing on league merchandise.
The goal of Beitel Hockey 4v4 Summer League is to create a competitive but respectful environment where players can develop their skills, compete hard, and enjoy the game over the summer with their friends. The league is built around fast-paced hockey, high compete levels, sportsmanship, and creating an atmosphere where every player has the opportunity to improve while still having fun.
We want this league to improve whenever and wherever possible, which is why player and family feedback is extremely important to us. If players and families have concerns, suggestions, or ideas on how to improve the league experience, we strongly encourage them to contact the league. Our goal is to make this the best possible summer hockey experience for everyone involved.

Teams will consist of a maximum of 10 skaters and 1 goalie. We believe this number creates the most competitive environment by balancing ice time, rest time, and roster flexibility throughout the summer.
Since summer schedules can be busy and players may occasionally miss games due to holidays or other commitments, smaller rosters help ensure teams can still compete effectively while giving players more ice time and involvement in games.
The league will primarily consist of players born in 2010, 2009, and 2008. Players born in 2007, 2006 or 2011 are welcome to register but must receive special approval from the league before being accepted. This is done to help maintain a fair, safe, and highly competitive playing environment for all participants.
Teams will be created during registration, and the league reserves the right to adjust rosters up to 3 games into the regular season in order to maintain fairness, balance, and competitiveness throughout the league.
During registration, players are encouraged to provide input on teammates they would like to play with. While team requests cannot be guaranteed, the league will do its best to place friends together whenever possible to create a more enjoyable and competitive atmosphere.
If a goalie is unable to attend a game, the league will do its best to find a replacement goalie whenever possible. Since all teams play on the same night, this is not expected to be an issue.
The league strongly requests open communication from players regarding absences, especially goalies, so adjustments can be made ahead of time to help maintain a fun and competitive experience for all teams.
Each game includes a 5-minute warmup followed by two 26-minute runtime periods with a 2-minute intermission.
If a game is tied at the end of regulation, the game will end in a tie.
Offsides will result in a change of possession instead of a faceoff to keep the game moving and maximize ice time.
Icings are permitted.
Penalties will follow standard Hockey Canada rules and will be 2 minutes runtime or a live penalty shot if applicable.
Officials will try, within reason, to avoid excessive penalties in order to maintain the flow of the game.
Body checking is not permitted, but body contact is allowed.
Full hockey equipment is required at all times, including a neck guard.
If an official believes an incident may deserve supplemental discipline, it will be reported to league management for review. Suspensions will then be determined by the league.
The league reserves the right to suspend any player for any reasonable length of time without refund for missed games.
Overage players will be subject to harsher suspensions than properly aged players to help further prevent dangerous actions from happening.
While suspensions are expected to be rare, this policy is in place to prevent dangerous or inappropriate behaviour that could negatively affect the competitive and enjoyable atmosphere of the league.
In the event of rink issues, severe weather, emergencies, or circumstances outside of the league’s control, games may be postponed or cancelled.
If a cancellation occurs, league staff will communicate updates to players as soon as possible through the league website, social media, or direct contact methods.
The league will do its best to reschedule cancelled games whenever possible; however, rescheduled ice times cannot be guaranteed depending on rink availability throughout the summer. In some situations, rescheduled games may need to take place on days other than Thursdays, although the league will make every reasonable effort to keep games on their originally scheduled day whenever possible.
Players are expected to regularly check league communication channels on game days to stay updated on any schedule changes or cancellations.
If an ice time is unable to be rescheduled each player will be refunded $45 for the ice time
Once a player has registered and paid for the league, no refunds will be provided if the player decides to quit or is unable to continue participating for any reason.
League fees are used to secure ice times, jerseys, referees, league operations, and other expenses prior to the start of the season and during the season
